Steere House is a skilled nursing facility (SNF), providing 24-hour licensed nursing care for patients and residents who require medical or nursing care, and/or therapy services for the rehabilitation of injured, disabled, or sick persons.

Care typically includes rehabilitation, intravenous therapy, post-surgical stabilization, pulmonary management, wound care, assistance with the administration of medications, and aid in a variety of daily living needs, including dressing, bathing, walking, and eating.  Additional services offered may include psychiatric/psychological services, social services, podiatry and optometry, housekeeping and laundry, and beauty/barbershop.

We are a 120-bed facility – made up of short-stay rehabilitation and custodial or traditional care, as well as a secured memory unit with 41 beds.

No. All medication, even over-the-counter, must be administered by one of our care team members after admission.

We offer semi-private and single accommodation.

For Short-Term residents who intend on going home after they have completed their rehab:

Free TV with basic Cox cable and phone

Bed, dresser, and a recliner in the room

For the residents that will be with us for the long term:

Free basic Cox cable and phone

Bed, dresser, and bed-side hutch

TV no bigger than thirty-two inches. We are happy to wall mount for safety (bracket provided)

We also encourage families to bring photos and anything that will make their loved ones more comfortable during the transition.

Whether someone comes to a skilled nursing facility for a few days or for Long-Term care, we want them to feel like they are at home. Items that will help provide comfort during a stay are best. Light clothing and personal items should be brought along with items that will warm their heart, such as family photos, small keepsakes, or a treasured blanket or pillow.   We encourage you to visit the facility ahead of time to see what items would be most appropriate. Unlike assisted living communities, our skilled nursing facilities provide basic furniture and toiletries.

While we encourage people to bring a few personal items, please leave jewelry, valuables, large amounts of money, purses/wallets, and electrical items, including electric blankets at home.

Short-Term Rehabilitation Patients: Our goal is to help you return home as quickly as possible. During your Short-Term stay, you are permitted to leave the facility for special occasions, although not overnight (a special church event, a wedding, or a funeral).

Long-Term Patients: Are allowed to leave. We request that plans and arrangements be communicated with the care team so they are aware.
