Joshua M. Segal, NHA
Josh has over 25 years of experience working in nursing facilities and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role.
He is a lifelong Rhode Islander. His first position as a financial services consultant to residents and families inspired him to return to school and earn a degree in Healthcare Administration. Since then, he has established a track record of effective leadership and regulatory compliance. Josh has guided facilities to a 5-star rating with CMS and has the proven ability to navigate the ever-changing regulatory environment. He is a member of the Leading Age, Treasurer of the Board for Carelink, and sits on the Board of the Rhode Island Nursing Home Group. Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration.
Director of Nursing Services
Nicole Plante, RN, BSN DNS-CT, CRRN
Nicole is a senior-level nursing executive who oversees the quality of nursing services to all residents and patients at Steere House. She graduated with a BSN from Salve Regina University in 2001. Nicole has dedicated her career to long-term care, starting as a CNA and later becoming an RN and working her way up through management positions. Nicole is a member of The Seasons of East Greenwich Board of Directors. She is a strong advocate for encouraging further education with her staff and has had the pleasure of witnessing many transitions from CNAs to nurses and LPNs to RNs. Nicole has been Wound Care Certified (WCC) in the past and became a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse in 2011 (CRRN) and a certified Director of Nurses in 2020.
Director of Life Enrichment
Gina Williamson
Gina directs and plans Activities and other therapeutic recreation at Steere House, which are offered to groups and individuals. Her years of experience in direct care and memory care interventions significantly contribute to the programs she oversees. She has received her certification as an Activities Professional in gerontology from CCRI and is certified by the Alzheimer’s Association training program for caregivers. Her work includes volunteer coordination, as well as student work-study placements. Gina has been employed at Steere House since 1993. She became a certified dementia practitioner in 2016.

Dietary Services Director
Marcia Murphy
Marcia arrived at Steere House as a high school student and is one of our longest-tenured team members. She demonstrated leadership in her transition to Unidine Senior Dining Services, gaining new skills in dietary management. With over 20 years as a Certified Dietary Manager at Steere House, the team appreciates her breadth of knowledge as she has worked through all positions. Marcia’s commitment to our residents is remarkable, and her mantra is always, “Residents First!”
EVS Director
Charlie Perron
Charlie oversees the operations of the facility systems and maintenance at Steere House and the laundry and housekeeping services. With many years of experience in long-term care, he has worked in Rhode Island and Florida during his career. His knowledge of HVAC, building operations systems, emergency systems, and Life Safety Code regulations brings a high level of expertise to Steere House. Charlie takes great pride in his department and the environment home to our residents.

Uluma Sharpe, MS SHRM-SCP
The Director of Human Resources at Steere House brings a wealth of real-world Steere House knowledge and expertise to our organization. Uluma has been at Steere House since 1991, beginning her tenure as a certified nursing assistant, obtaining additional training and becoming a certified medication technician. Prior to moving to Rhode Island, Uluma graduated from Cuttington University College in Liberia with a BSC. Joining the Business Office team as an HR Representative over 15 years ago, she pursued a certificate in Human Resources at URI. A past Employee of the Year, she has earned a master’s degree in labor relations and human resources from URI. Additionally, Uluma is a Senior Certified Professional by the Society of Human Resource
Resident Assessment Director
Tara Sullivan, RN
Tara joined Steere House in 2012 as TCU Coordinator before starting in MDS, becoming a certified Resident Assessment Coordinator (RAC)-CT in 2022 and RAC Director in 2023.
She is a graduate of Bridgewater State College with a B.S. in Chemistry and a CCRI graduate with an Associate Degree in Nursing, ultimately becaming an RN. While pursing her nursing degree, Tara realized her passion for the elderly and their care.
Prior to joining Steere House and while prusurig her studies, Tara served as Activity Director and Charge Nurse at John Clarke Nursing and Rehab Center (SNF) in Middletown, RI for three years and worked in Newport Hospital for an additional three years.
Medical Director
Nadia Mujahid, MD, TCU
Dr. Mujahid is a leader in geriatric orthopedic trauma at Rhode Island Hospital and a 2012 Hartford Scholar. Her role at Steere House includes direct patient care services, clinical coordination, and education, as well as Steere House staff development.
Medical Director
Aman Nanda, MD, CMD
Dr. Nanda is a practicing geriatrician and board-certified in internal medicine. He received his medical degree from RNT Medical College in Rajasthan, India. Dr. Nanda completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. An Associate Professor of Medicine, he is a faculty member at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program.
Director of Social Services
Christina Menyo, BA, LSW
Christina is a graduate of Fitchburg State University, BS, and has ten years of experience working in the nursing home setting. As a licensed social worker in Massachusetts, she has worked as both a long-term and short-term rehabilitation social worker in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Her background includes co-leading family support groups, hospice care, and discharge planning. Christina brings integrity, ability to problem solve, and compassion for advocating for the residents and families of Steere House.
