A History of Service
For Steere House, 2024 marks our 150th Anniversary. Since our founding in 1874, we have maintained a spirit of compassion for Rhode Island’s senior population. With the continued support of the greater Steere House Community we plan to continue our mission well into the future.
Learn more about how a community of several clergy and Providence-area citizens, led by Henry J. Steere and Lucy Bucklin, came together to support a population in need.

Congratulations to two of our physicians: Dr. Lynn McNicoll and Dr. Nadia Mujahid, who were both recognized as Top Doctors by RI Monthly in 2024.
